I have nice collection of
padlocks, mostly from Middle and Far East.
I had the plasure to show
my collection of wooden locks from Dogon and Bambara tribes, in northern Mali.
Following an agreement with
the Archaeological Superintendent of Neaples, I had the opportunity to classify
some 500 locks and keys from Pompeii, excavated after August the 24th
, 79 AD eruption. From such works a CD ROM is born, with 100 photos and data of
the best specimens.
What
about a short text on Roman padlocks?
I will be glad if you will
come back soon, to look at a richer site on that topic.
