CURRICULUM VITAE
Adalberto Biasiotti got his
University degree in Electronics, in Rome Polytechnic in 1964, specializing in
electroacoustics and radio links. His research thesis was centered around a new
type of directional sound transducer, subsequently patented.
He started working in the
research lab of Siemens of Italy.
Main area of interest was
telephone and radio communications. After three years and three patents, he
moved to design department, in charge of technical and commercial activities
for audio and video distribution and switching systems.
Acting as deputy director,
in charge of export activities, he got responsiblity from offer to
commissioning of many "round the world" projects:
- audio and video centres
of Hellenic Authority in Athens, Italian Radio and TV in Rome, Radio Telefis
Eireann in Dublin, NOS in Hilversum, Argentina radio in Buenos Ayres for Rimet
Cup, the PA and simultaneous translation systems for Somaliland, Nigerian and
Sudanese Parliaments (This one in cooperation with Roumanian contractors).
The gradual growth of
alarm systems in Italy attracted his attention and since 1975 he started
marketing German made alarm and central station systems. All major banks and
other administrations were supplied, at top security clearance. The Italian
central station network, operated by Italian Police (about 100 installations
with capacities ranging from 50 to 1000+), was installed under his supervision.
In 1981, to get a
deeper knowledge of all security related fields, including physical security,
he moved to Lips Vago, as marketing and strategic planning director for the
Chubb group in Italy. The newly developed Chubb Response centralization system
saw his direct involvement.
Since September 1983,
he is a free lance consultant, setting up a Security Training Centre, with a
full range of security related courses.
Since three years, A.
Biasiotti is security consultant to Pompeii Archaeological Superintendency. Like to have a look at the site?
Biasiotti is a fully
credited journalist and technical editor of the leading italian magazine on
security and banking technology "Bancamatica". He contributes
regularly to many magazines and has written a number of books on alarm
centralization, CCTV, safelocks and banking project and planning, as well as
information system protection.

The security of data
processing centres against physical and logic attacks is now his main subject
of attention, being advisor to a number of financial institutions and insurance
companies in Italy and abroad.
He wrote recently a book,
in cooperation with a Internal Revenue official, on techniques for discovering
computer related frauds. He regularly lectures at The IBM Executive Institute
for Informatics.
He has lectured in many
meetings, around the world.
He is member of many
security and telecommunications standard associations and committees.
He is member of the Italian
Association of Security Professionals (AIPROS) and of the Board of Directors of
Italian Master Locksmith Association (ERSI).
He is president of the
Italian Certification body for glazed surfaces and metal profiles, as well as
committee member of many ISO 9001, 9002 and product certification bodies.
